The first night we planned to go to the game it was rained out. Luckily we had a scheduled day off and were able to return the second night. Even then there was a 35 minute rain delay before the game started. The Harrisburg Senators, the Double A affiliate with Montreal, play in River Side Stadium on City Island in the middle of the Susquehanna River. This stadium was built in 1987 seating 6,300. It has a covered section over the three sections behind home plate with mainly bleacher backed seating. There are 5 rows of seats behind home plate, 3 rows of seats on the 3rd baseline and 4 rows of seats on the 1st base line. The Senators were playing Altoona Curve and won 3-2. The box score was Curve R-2, H-8, E-0 and Senators R-3, H-9, E-1. The field lines are RF & LF-335' and CF-400'. Rascal is the mascot. Jeff Bailey, from Kelso WA, had a lead off single in the top of the 2nd, which was the first hit for the Senators. He then scored the first run on a triple by Albenis Machado. Jeff was the catcher for the game. He is checking his swing in the picture below. There is a give-away for every game, whoopee cushions for the rain out and playground balls for the game we saw.
