Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves play at Turner Field. The stadium was built for the 1996 Olympics as the track and field facility. It seats 50,096. After the Olympics it was converted into an enjoyable baseball stadium. Atlanta was playing St. Louis. Pitching for Atlanta was Greg Maddux who got the win, Row 2 #5, and John Smoltz came in the top of the 8th after The Cards scored two to get the save, Row 3 #5. Atlanta started off the game with two solo homeruns in the bottom of the 1st. St. Louis tied the game in the 8th and the Braves came back in the 8th with two runs to win the game 4-2. the box score was Cards R-2, H-6, E-0 and Braves R-4, H-7, E-1. The field lines are RF-330', RC-390', CF-400', LC 380' and LF-335'. The Coke bottle shown displays fireworks when an Atlanta player hits a home run. It is covered with jerseys, bases, bats, and chest protectors. Outside Turner Field you can see where the previous stadium Fulton County Stadium was located. This is where Hank Aaron hit #715. The old stadium area has been turned into a parking lot. They have set the base paths in bricks and the portion of the wall where Aaron's home run was hit is still there. From one area of the 300 level in Turner Field you can see the wall, Row 3 #1. Groups of art students painted baseballs for each of the major league teams and these are located in an area outside of the stadium. The mascots are Homer and Rally. The aisle seats on each row have a relief of Hank Aaron. The bullpens are located in each outfield and run perpendicular to the field, Row 3 #2. In the area outside the stadium are statues of Hank Aaron, Ty Cobb, Phil Niekro, and Casey at the Bat. The attendance was 21,338.
